Moving In

Things have been busy. Tugboat fest was the last weekend in August so I had to take part in some of that before moving to Parkland. I moved into the apartment on the 31st of August mostly just getting things into the place. Later that afternoon after making a food run it was dinner and music compliments of Hannah and Jordan at the Bistro in Sumner. It was a great night with good food. That night was the first night I slept at the apartment and it was ok. The bed was a tad uncomfortable but I now have an old person's foam bed top thing. w00t.
The following day I drove back to Olympia since there is nothing happening on campus until the 8th of September. I spent Sunday afternoon through Thursday morning in Olympia doing yard work, cleaning cat puke, scratching said cats, removing kitty cakes, and whatever else. Thursday afternoon I drove back to my place in Parkland with another load. Things are slowly finding their places. I still have a bookshelf that needs to come out from my truck but I am waiting on dry weather for that.
I have now met all of the roommates and they are a good group of guys. Rasmus is from Copenhagen, Denmark, Kim, is from Oslo, Norway, and Jeremy is just out of the military from Hawaii. I share the bathroom with the Norwegian so that will be "fun"....if that is a word to describe sharing something like that.
Anywho on with some pictures
So there are the tugs...Now, for the apartment
When you first come into the apartment from the hallway you will be in kitchen which flows into the family room.
Walk to that window you see in the above picture and turn 180 to see the kitchen and the main entry.
From here I am just going to my room. The rooms are flanked out on either side of the main living area down pseudo hallways.

The walk in closet is a good size. I use it as pantry and as clothing storage among other things.

aaand the view out the window from my room.
So, there is more work that should happen to make the place more "home-like" but that will come in the following days. We all agreed the main living area looked sad. I brought my road bike (the red one) and have it in the secured indoor bike parking room here on the second floor which is conveniently located just a couple doors down. It is a good sized room and keeps the steed out of the weather. I will likely add more pictures in the coming days of things around here.
