Chambers

Monday I have an interview with the School of Nursing for a "student worker" position. It is largely filing, front desk fill in, data entry, etc..in terms of on-campus employment it pays decently. The hours are kind of low but money is money. So fingers crossed on that. I have a presentation on Sofia Jannok . in my Music of Scandinavia class. For those not familiar she is Sami and performs joik largely in updated forms. I was in the library the other night seeing what kind of material is on hand in paper form and came across some neat old books.

This book is from 1825. It is partially in English (the introduction) and the rest is in Dano-Norwegian.
It is old enough the pages crumble.
"Living the Norwegian Dream" hah!
While running in the field the other day I noticed, near one of the fir trees, there were a lot of red ants. They have formed their own freeway going in to a grove of blackberry bushes. You can sort of see it in the sod here. It is about 1.5" wide. Incredible.
I rode to Tacoma again. The leaves are changing.
Today I went to Chambers bay. It is pretty neat. The weather was kind of nuts though with wind and rain. I have driving rain as I type this. Maybe you can make out the train in this shot. Passenger. There is a bridge to take you to the beach. Trains pass under you.

This is how it looks with open skies.
I lied on the 20 words a week thing on that last post. It is more like 45 and I have it down cold. Things continue to go well here...except my roommate burned a couple pizzas this afternoon and smoked the place out. I blame it on female detraction ;)
