Stadig Mer Opptatt

So in that last blog post I mentioned that schoolwork had been on the lite side. I guess it sort of comes at you like a ton of bricks all at once and will not stop until the end of the semester based on what I am seeing. It is fine, I am completely capable of handling it.

Norsk continues to be an easy class. Being in a class where you know most of the subject makes a person feel like a genius. This being said, there is an expansion of vocabulary and other bits and pieces that I pick up as we go along, so I am not spinning my wheels by taking this class. I make a large effort to add a minimum of 20 words a week to my vocabulary and see that journal entries go beyond the scope of what is expected.

Music of Scandinavia continues and is picking up pace. We have yet to make it into the music of Scandinavia only because a decent foundation must be laid to better grasp the concepts and what is to come. My music history and stylistic period knowledge is very rusty. The last time I had such information was ca. 2008. I just finished a comparison paper for this class working with Franz Haydn's Symphony No.45 and Beethoven's Symphony No.9. I guess I will see what the proff. thinks of it later in the week.

The Religion course, Jesus and His Early Interpreters, continues to be vastly more comprehensive than I should even care to take on. I am one of 3 people out of the 12 in the class that are not religion majors making for what I guess I will call I tiring experience. There is a test on Tuesday and the material is ridiculous. Whatever. Power through it.

Group presentations, tests, presentations, exams, papers...oi, så det er sånn det er.

I have meetings peppered through the week. Largely Scandinavian things. It keeps things good.

The weather has more or less changed. I can finally sense some coolness in the air during the day. I guess the roads around here are not the best for biking. I have blown out the rear on my bike 3 times now since moving here and the bike has been off the road a good 8 days. This is due to rocks and gravel all over the roads, homies tossing their 40s to the curb on Friday nights, and other debris. I bought a good stock of tubes.

Anywho, on with some pictures.
Last day of "summer"
Maybe you will have to tilt the screen to see Rainier.
I rode to downtown Tacoma the other week. This was before the major decent into town.
It is a pretty easy ride until you decide to head back to Parkland on a single speed bike. Dat hill!

I saw a double rainbow while behind Honda boy on the way to the store to buy more bike tubes. It may be cheaper to just drive than ride. Time will tell.
