Rainier

Two hours. That is how long it takes to get from the house in Olympia to Paradise. Aptly named no doubt. It has been a few years since I had been in Paradise and it was good to go back. Parkland is even closer so I might have to make another trip up the mountain before the snow flies. It was free day for the park this last weekend so the parents and I made the trek. It was not a very clear day but that is ok. The base of the mountain was still very much visible and to be in the alpine areas with alpine meadows was great.
With this being August the snowpack/glaciers were at their lowest levels. The rivers were also at their driest state. With no fresh snow on the glaciers the deep blue was very visible and now that I am going through pictures realized I did not take any pictures of said glaciers....ug.
Of course there are waterfalls everywhere
Paradise

Anywho, as we were leaving on the one way road out of Paradise (read: the Mother was not in the vehicle making for an interesting scenario) the weather really turned and it began to pour. A great time and I look forward to heading back up in the near future.

In other news; I do decree the rain doth returneth to Olympia.
