Oslo

A friend came in from Denmark this past week. He has a car so we made use of that. Sofia, Sanni, Tobias, and I left from Bø at about 10 or so on Friday Oslo bound. We first stopped at Notodden to see the Heddal Stav Church. This is one of the larger in Norway. Unfortunately we were not able to get inside. Maybe another time since Notodden is not that far from Bø.
Coming into Oslo. Vestkanten
The 4 of us crammed into Tobias' VW Up. Fun little car and the size of an old bug at best.
I booked us a hotel not far from the city center. 12th floor. Great view.
Part of Stortinget (parliament) and...stuff. I have spent time throughout the building before. It was fun showing off bits of Oslo to the others. They had not really be in the city before.
Scandinavians attack!
uhhh...
The royal palace
Part of the U. of Oslo. I remembered it being yellow.
Looks just like the school in Bø, right?
Went out to Lorry a restaurant on the north side near the palace.
From there we walked the palace grounds then headed through town again.
Straight down Karl Johan's.
For those not familiar with Oslo, the palace is to my back and this is "the" street in Norway.
Oslo Harbor
Part of Akershus (castle and old primary defense to Oslo Harbor)
So from there we decided to turn it up and get wild. Started here and then....well yea.
ehm, ja
The next morning we headed out again. Scoping the opera house.
We went into Rådhuset (city hall and where the Nobel Peace Prize is awarded)

Vigelands Park
It was thought that we should go to Utøya because it was so near. If you do not recall this is where the massacre took place and was the beginning to the terror in Norway in 2011.
A phone was lost, but other than that we had a great time in Oslo. Just sort of laying low here today in Bø. Tomorrow is a heavy day for me with schoolwork. I also have a rather large paper going in for Ecophilosophy tomorrow.
