Et Nytt År

Happy New Year folks. I am entering this post on my new laptop. It runs Windows 8 and I am still very much not used to it; at least I have a touch screen. My old laptop was starting to make some very concerning noises and the hard drive is thinking of going all suicidal. The computer had crashed a few times and Microsoft is not going to support XP after April of this year. It was time.

Olympia was nice and it was good to have family together for the festivities there. Matthew flew in as well. We did dinner. Boots came too.

Anywho, we poked around Olympia for a few days, did Christmas, then went to Roslyn. Matthew has the pictures here.
There was not a lot of snow which was kind of lame but does not change my feelings for Roslyn. I love that place. We played cards, watched movies, ate, drank, went to the lake, ice skated, hiked around, drove around, etc. We even went to Leavenworth. On the 1st everyone went their separate ways; I came back to Parkland.

On the 2nd began my J-term course, Scandinavian Migrant Literature. As the title suggests, it is a lit course and is very much reading intensive. Though, the material is interesting so I am not overly phased by it...yet. Class runs from 8.30 in the morning until 11.40 everyday. It might get repetitive but time will tell. The first "real" day of work at the SCC will be this coming Sunday. Christmas needs to be removed.
