Picnics in the hills
Lithuanian food. Sort of like sawdust mixed with licorice and a graham cracker.
Then Lithuanian soup. Broth was of beets. Pickled.
Then we made from scratch šaltanosiai, which apparently translates to cold noses.
Blueberries inside with some sugar, flour based things you make and wrap them in. Then you boil it.
Top with sour creme.
Out of the cooker they kind of look like some mutilated liver.
Swap the berries out for chicken with chopped vegetables and you have the main course variant.
Add some Lithuanian Vodka and you have a nice evening.
Another night we did a cobbler thing. These berries came out of the woods about a month ago and we froze our excess. In fact, we had some that went bad so we made some wine with them as well.
All from scratch.
While I am on the nourishment subject, we just started the final batch of mead, the Christmas mead.
Take a walk.
Three Finns are coming in this evening for a visit.
Rock out!
