It rains just about everyday. We start with overcast and typically have sun starting about 9.30. That goes until maybe 1 or so then it will rain off an on. Just like WA this time of year. I have been surprised to learn that Bø typically does not see much snow during the year. The surrounding hills and mountains get it, but town itself receives only inches most years. Apparently just 2-300 feet more elevation and you get real snow. I suppose I will just wait and see. The Lifjell mountains are the place to be. I know it from biking, but it also has skiing possibilities. That is probably 30 minutes away by car from town center. I am on the side of town closer to Lifjell.
Yesterday was a free showing of The Incredibles. It had been a few years since I had seen it and made for something to do. There were about 30 of us at the theater. I probably knew about 25 of the people.
This is the best hotel in town. It is right next to the school.
Do a 180 and you see the school there.
Those are the trains you take from Oslo....

This is where I actually live. I put 10% down; like my picket fence?
I hiked up the hill to those old ski jumps.
Fuse panel that would blow up if you put juice to it.

The small one on the left
This one is so dilapidated there is a sign on it warning to not climb it.
This is the view if you turn 180.
I did not climb the larger one only because I was by myself. The top of that jump sits way up there and I would not want to be the only one around should any wood give way. No warning signs and I climbed halfway up. The wood seemed good and the foundations are solid. The primary frame beams are probably $20k pieces of lumber.
I am sure the view is incredible.
This hill must have long been used for ski jumping.
The rock formations here are quite conducive to it.
There are several rocks that would give different options for jumping.
These wood structures have just been built on top of them.
Here is the skatepark next to campus. You can actually see it on the webcam.
The school is actually quite green. Here is the campus garden.
Just some perspective. The school's track is on the left, you can make out some of the ancient church up on the hill, there is a farm in there, the school is on the right behind the kindergarten.
There is actually a hospital in Bø. Who knows what they are capable of.
I am sure most real issues would be helevac'ed to Porsgrunn or Oslo.
(White buildings in the middle)
Just an old fuel pump at a shutdown garage.
