Expedition Rock Candy Mountain Preliminary Exploration (ERCMPE):

Rock Candy Mountain sits just west of Olympia sort of in the capitol forest. The gateway to the area is USFS road 10430 that includes bridges and muck. From there it is really a free for all in miles upon miles of trails in open logged areas, thick forests, ravines, etc. It is possible to get into the ORV area from this network of trails. I saw a sign for the turn off but never ventured that far. Running solo, I felt comfortable going only so far.
All in all good it was a good exploring session. I found new places to ride the bikes, hike, and off road. I had sun, clear, fog, rain, drizzle, and high wind. GPS is a requirement out there and if traveling with more than one vehicle over air communications would be appreciated.
